The movie focuses mainly on Kurapika's story and the mystery of Genei Ryodan's previous #4 member (Omokage) before Hisoka took the position.

☨ Killua's Dream/Flashback ☨

The movie starts off on a rainy night, Killua was standing at the top of a building, and he seems to be waiting for his victim (mafia boss) to be sighted when suddenly, his brother Illumi appeared. Illumi kept on giving lectures to Killua such as "You don't need any friends, they'll just get in the way and you'll just betray them..." blah blah blah thingy. He also told Killua that the only happiness he could get is whenever he kills someone. Killua then jumps off the building to kill the mafia boss together with the 2 other people accompanying his target.

After that incident Killua walks away and comes across with 3 boys (almost the same as his age) playing with a ball, they even asked Killua to kick the ball back to them. Killua attempted to do so but Illumi interrupted him, reminding him that he doesn't need to have friends. Illumi then proceeds to kill the 3 boys, ignoring Killua's plea to stop doing such.

☨ Before Meeting Leorio... ☨

Killua wakes up with a startled and nervous look, a pretty attendant approached and asked him if there was something wrong but he answered that he was fine. He then looked at Gon who was sitting and sleeping on the seat opposite of him. Gon eventually wakes up and asks Killua if he was looking at him while sleeping. He denied this then Gon accused him of being a liar and because of this, they got into a childish argument, disturbing the other passengers in the blimp. In the end, they got scolded by the female attendant who got pissed off (her face turned creepy as hell).

☨ Kurapika's Eyes ☨

When Gon and Killua went off the blimp, Leorio then meets up with the two. After they took a ride, he started to narrate the incident about Kurapika's eyes. As we all know, Kurapika has been searching for the eyes of his clan members and they got some sort of information that someone in the town had such eyes. It goes on with a flashback, Kurapika saw this blind boy, Pairo, who almost had similar clothes as him (the color was different though) and was sitting on some sort of fountain thing while playing music with a small harp.

"Pairo!!", Kurapika shouted, he was dazzled in shock and amazement; Pairo recognized the sound of his voice and spread his hands, as if yearning to touch Kurapika's face. He draws Kurapika's face near his, mentioning that his eyes can only see darkness. Pairo opened his eyes and much to Kurapika's surprise, all he can see were these big black empty holes. Suddenly, some kind of power surged between Kurapika and Pairo's eyes. Kurapika fell back as he shouted in pain. Hearing this, Leorio came to his aid, seeing Pairo trying to assault them. It was then when Kurapika's eyes were revealed to be stolen.

The scene now settles in a hospital with Gon, Killua, Kurapika (who was lying unconscious in bed with bandages on his eyes) and Leorio all together. Seeing Kurapika's condition, Gon rushed to his side as he mentioned Kurapika's name in anxiety. Kurapika recognized his voice and regains his consciousness. The story progresses as Kurapika tells his story of how he was related to Pairo.

☨ Kurapika's Flashback ☨

It was revealed that Pairo was Kurapika's childhood friend, more like best friends. When they were younger, they enjoyed reading a book entitled "Dino Hunter" thingy (or whatever that is) that they got from saving an outsider and the book itself gave ideas of what the world beyond their place was like. This made Kurapika yearn to explore the outside world so that he could find a doctor to cure Pairo's eyes but before he could do so, he must pass three challenges. The last challenge was the one that gave Kurapika trouble but he was able to pass it with Pairo's help.

To be specific, the last challenge was to test patience where in Kurapika was tasked to go out shopping in a nearby village without revealing his scarlet eyes. The elder of Kurta clan asked him to pick his companion and much to their surprise, Kurapika chose Pairo as his companion. The elder also mandated Kurapika to use some sort of eye drops that would retain Kurapika's scarlet eyes if ever he fails to hold his temper.

When they were almost done with the test, Pairo was being picked on by a group of 3 men because he spoiled one of the guy's clothes with liquor. Seeing the incident, Kurapika bursts out in a rage, revealing his scarlet eyes and much to the bystanders' surprise, they started referring to Kurapika as an evil entity because of his unique, scarlet eyes. When they were on the way back to the village, Kurapika thought that maybe it was just better not to go out in the outside world. Anyhow, he failed the test but Pairo interrupted, saying that his eyes were back to its normal color. Pairo then revealed that he tricked the elder by replacing the eye drops he gave to Kurapika and because of that, Kurapika was qualified to travel and leave the village. Days later, Kurapika received terrible news-- the Kurta clan was murdered and their eyes were stolen by the Phantom Troupe. From that day on, Kurapika vowed that he will have revenge on the said group.

☨ Kurapika's Vision ☨

Going back to the present situation, Kurapika notifies Gon, Killua and Leorio that he's seeing some sort of vision all of a sudden. Pairo now possesses Kurapika's eyes, and it's more likely to say that Kurapika can catch sight of what Pairo is currently seeing. Pairo is now shown sitting on a chair, facing a huge window and next to him was a tall, slender man having a long, silver hair with the #4 spider tattoo on his right palm.

The view outside the window was an immense landscape which Kurapika begins to describe while Leorio tries to draw the images seen by Kurapika. It was an area with mountains, along with a river on the side and amidst of it was a triangle-like rock formation with a hole in the middle. Getting this information, the group did some research about relevant areas and later on, decides to split up to generate results faster.

☨ Gon, Killua and… Retz ☨

Gon and Killua decided to start their search and agreed to meet up on a specific spot once they're done. Gon started his investigation by asking people about the area as he shows his drawing of the place they're looking for. On the other hand, Killua appeared to have located a similar landscape but unfortunately, it wasn't the one they were looking for. While Gon was on his own, he saw a small crowd gathering to witness some kind of attraction. He approached and saw a young puppeteer who uses Ren in performing his act in front of the crowd. The puppeteer introduced himself as Retz after being saved by Gon from a street accident

Killua decided to meet up with Gon since it was already getting dark. Gon immediately introduced Retz to Killua. It was obviously shown that Killua was getting jealous, especially when Gon said that Retz was fun to be with. Moments later, Killua started to argue with Retz and he even ended up pushing Retz in the chest, making him fall back on the ground. It was then when Killua realized that Retz wasn't a "he" after all, Retz was a girl. After that incident, the three decided to stay in an inn to enjoy some food, have some conversation and spend the night there.

☨ Hisoka Pays a Visit ☨

The scene now transfers to Hisoka who's paying a visit in the middle of the night at the hospital where Kurapika is. Both Leorio and Kurapika were caught up in surprise but Hisoka went there without any intention to kill, telling them the usual that "they are still unripe fruits" blah blah blah thingy. Anyway, his real purpose was to inform Kurapika about the real #4 member of Genei Ryodan. He also told them to be more careful since that person is a dangerous man and is not to be taken lightly.

☨ Uvogin?! ☨

Killua and Gon were awakened by Uvogin who was definitely raging outside, having the intention to kill them. The moment they saw Uvo, they were in complete disbelief since they already know that he was killed by Kurapika. They immediately told Retz to run and escape because it was too dangerous for her to stay with them. In the first exchange of attacks, both Gon and Killua were beaten up by Uvo's strength.

Later on, Gon came up with a plan to take down Uvo but it seems that Killua was not in his normal self because he continually recalls Illumi in his thoughts saying, "Don't fight with opponents you cannot defeat." And he was certain that they can't defeat Uvo at the moment. Just when Uvo was about to take both of them down, Nobunaga started to take the spotlight while telling both of them, "Is it really difficult for you to kill a puppet?". Nobunaga was able to defeat Uvo but when he was about to leave, Omokage showed up all of a sudden. He gave a short speech and summoned some of his puppets which included Pakunoda and some members of Shadow Beasts before he left the scene.

Moments later, Machi appeared as well, immobilizing the puppets with her threads to enable Nobunaga to strike. After taking care of the matter, Nobunaga and Machi immediately left. The next scene was concentrated on Gon, Killua and Retz who was finding her puppet among the remains of the wreckage caused by the fight.

☨ Killua's Suspicions ☨

The next scene that followed was a bit girly for it was when Gon and Killua accompanied Retz to buy a new dress. The dress that she bought was a black and red lolita style outfit. After fitting and buying the dress, she mentioned something that made Killua want to talk to Gon privately. Upon seeing the two leave, Retz ordered her puppet to follow the two. Gon and Killua had their private talk in a small alley.

Killua mentioned about his uncertainties and suspicions about Retz, he even mentioned that Retz might betray them in the end. Without a warning, Retz suddenly appeared before them and shouted that she wants to accompany and help the two because she considers them as her friends. In fact, she will show the way to location of the place that they were looking for. Without any choice left, Killua just agreed with it and the three continued with their journey.

Once they left the area, a dark figure emerged from the alley they were previously at and the unknown stature resembled the figure of a tall, slender man with long hair.

Retz then takes them to this old mansion which matches the scenery of the place that they were actually looking for. Sensing the danger, Gon and Killua obliged Retz to wait outside for them. After a short commotion, Retz finally agreed and told the two to take care. As they entered the mansion, Gon and Killua were welcomed by numerous dolls/puppets displayed on huge cabinets. Once they went upstairs, they saw the exact place which Kurapika saw in his vision; the chair which was facing the huge window with the mountainous view, the river and that weird rock formation was all in front of them.

Suddenly a tall figure stood up from the chair, slowly facing Gon and Killua. Both of them were in the state of shock until Killua uttered in a nervous voice, "A-Aniki...".

☨ Betrayal?! ☨

As Illumi stood up to face them, he was fairly recognizable except for his eyes. Instead of having his usual big, mysteriously cute eyes (that's how I describe it since I have a huge crush on this guy), his eyes were completely black and this only serves as a proof that the one being faced by Gon and Killua is just another puppet of Omokage (not the real Illumi). Killua gets terrified of the sight of his brother and is now unable to move because of nervousness. Illumi slowly approached Killua, talking and reminding him of "not having friends". On the other hand, Gon tried to assault Illumi but he was pinned down by Illumi on the wall.

Killua wasn't his usual self anymore, he suddenly ran away caused by his extreme fear of his older brother, leaving Gon behind. Angered by the events, Gon was able to free himself from being pinned down. He attempted to attack Illumi for the second time but he was sent flying out of the window and he landed exactly in front of Killua. Startled, Killua tries to reach for Gon but Illumi appeared again, obstructing him to do so. Illumi attemped to steal Killua's eyes but all of a sudden, Gon came in the way. So instead of Killua having his eyes lost, it was Gon who lost his. As for Killua, he felt ashamed for what happened and he ran away in embarrassment.

☨ Omokage and Retz ☨

Retz is now shown together with Omokage who appears to be his older brother. Another flashback was shown about Retz and Omokage himself. It was when Omokage referred to himself as the "Puppet God" who uses real human eyes for his puppets to bring them to life. Retz was also in the flashback but it seems that she was lifeless and her eyes were disseminated on the floor. Going back to the present situation, Omokage tells Retz, "You don't need those eyes now…" something something (I can't remember exactly xD). He took Retz' eyes, giving us the hint that Retz must've been a puppet all along.

☨ Killua, Don't Do It! ☨

Feeling depressed and ashamed of what occurred; Killua was seen walking in the dark, soaking himself in the rain. He reached for his pocket and realized that he still had Gon's hunter license which reminded him of all the fun they had together. He stopped in the middle of a railroad track and starts crying, saying that he was the one who betrayed his friends. A train is seen fast approaching from Killua's back but he doesn't seem to care now, he might be thinking that it was pointless to live anymore. Just when the train was about to hit Killua, Gon suddenly appeared, pushing him away from the track. Thus, saving Killua's life.

Killua was astonished; he asked Gon how the heck he found him. Gon answered that he was able to follow him with his scent. Moments later, Kurapika (who still had bandages on his eyes) and Leorio joins the two. All together, they agreed to take down Omokage as a team.

☨ Did You Have Fun, Kurapika? ☨

Returning back to the mansion they stumbled into a theater-like place and they were welcomed by Omokage who was standing on the stage, together with two of his puppets: Illumi and Pairo. Retz is seen sitting on a throne-type chair at the back of Omokage. Kurapika was obviously enraged by the situation and moments later, Pairo started to strike Kurapika. On the other hand, Gon and Killua were to take Illumi as their opponent.

While Kurapika and Pairo were fighting, Pairo kept on citing memories about Kurta clan and Kurapika's family. In their battle, Kurapika was attacking with doubts, making his attacks weaker. Pairo was about to give Kurapika a deadly blow but Leorio came in the way to aid him but later on, he was hurled among the pews. In the mean time, Killua was having a hard time parrying with his older brother but luckily, he was with Gon who suggested that they should work as a team by means of assaulting Illumi at the same time. And with that, they were able to deafeat the puppet Illumi, leaving a hole in the middle of his chest as their final blow.

Going back to Kurapika, it was evident that he's having a hard time in the battle. Despite that, he was also able to defeat Pairo whose last words were, "Did you have fun, Kurapika?". He responded by saying that he had, and then Kurapika took his eyes back from the puppet.

☨ Omokage's Demise ☨

Being able to take down two of his puppets, Omokage realized that these guys weren't to be taken lightly. Thus, he summons more of his dolls; the puppets of the Phantom Troupe. There, he revealed that his real purpose for joining Genei Ryodan was just to make puppets of the members. It gave the team a hard situation to commence with.

Out of the blue, Hisoka appeared to join the bash. His first strike landed on Machi. Then he decided to take on three more puppets; Feitan, Phinx and his favorite, Chrollo (xD). Having difficulties in landing attacks, Gon and Killua decided to act as baits so that Kurapika will be able to use his chain on Omokage which they successfully accomplished. Meanwhile, Hisoka was done playing with the three puppets yet, he was unsatisfied from the match. Clearly, he was expecting more. Much to Omokage's surprise, he started cursing Hisoka for destroying his dolls. Moments later, the real members of Phantom Troupe appeared, destroying the other puppets under the control of Omokage.

Omokage is now immobilized by Kurapika's chain. He was about to use his judgment chain on him but Killua interrupted, volunteering that he should be the one to kill him since he doesn't want Kurapika to dirty his hands. But Kurapika proceeded to do it and started to set out the conditions. Despite that, Omokage refused and replied with a boisterous "No!". Suddenly, Retz came into the scene as he stabbed Omokage from the back, clinching him as he slowly dies. She then sets out a fire to burn down the place. Killua tried to rescue her but Gon held him to a halt.

☨ The End ☨

Kurapika was in a disturbed condition since the real members of Genei Ryodan were right in front of him. But he can't act at the moment because he was still weak from the previous battle; he was merely watching them in agitation as they left the place.

After all those events, Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio talk over about their future plans. Leorio and Kurapika already had things to do but Killua really had nothing in mind so Gon asks him to come with him which he happily accepted. Lastly, they are seen to part ways in the airport, exchanging goodbyes to each other as they set off to do their own things.

A glimpse of the other characters were also shown in the end; Chrollo (who I think was heading east based on his prophecy as connected to the anime), Gon's father, Biscuit and Kite as well. After the credits roll, a glimpse of Chairman Netero (who looked ominous) was also shown in the end (and that just made me curious).

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Well, that's all of it.
More like, it's all of the things I can remember from what I watched.

Anyway, to whoever took time to read this...
Thank you very much and have a nice day, ciao~
